The intention of these meetings are to share artists critical assessment of each other's work as a learning and evaluating tool to help provide individual direction and evolution of our art. It can also be used as a time to bring clarity to our concepts and philosophy's behind our art. Sharing of information for appropriate shows and exhibits to participate in and or attend will also be discussed. All mediums are encouraged to participate. 4pm January 23 - 25 Weaving a Rayon Chenille Scarf – If you’ve always wanted
to weave with chenille but have been afraid to try it, now is your chance!
Students will learn about challenges of working with rayon chenille and
ways to overcome some of the difficulties. February 7, 2009, 9:00 AM-4:00 PM Weave an Egg Basket Workshop – Using various sizes of reed (product from a palm tree) weave a functional basket. Learn different techniques in creating this useable basket. Can be used for an Easter Basket. Please see our Classes page for more detail. February 14, 2009, 9:00 AM- 12noon and 1:00 PM-4:00 PM Nuture your Design Skills - Weaving Workshop - with a combination of classes from Cameron Taylor-Brown. March 14 - May 2, 2009 Reception: Saturday,March 14, 4-6pm April 17, 2009, 4:00-7:00PM, Weave a Pattern Gamp – Learn how different threadings create different patterns depending on the treadling you use. juried Fiber Open exhibition. All fiber media, from traditional to contemporary
to innovative, are welcome including weaving, basketry, sculpture, felting,
papermaking, beading, knitting, crocheting and embroidery. June 20, 2009, 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM Log Cabin on the Rigid Heddle – Make a scarf or table runner in the beautiful log cabin pattern using a rigid heddle loom. You can create a wonderful woven piece that looks complicated, but is really very easy. Please see our Classes page for more detail.
